the concert-practice for two performers mediated by the digital agent (pure data algorithm), which records, distorts and amplifies performer’s voices in real-time, thus coupling them in common body. within that ethereal unit performers act in constant shifting, almost flickering (“mertsanie” in russian) between affective and analytical responses.

speculative channeling session “Linda Johnson”

the audio performance dedicated to a
creator of a sound material which is used widely by
corporations in a text-to-speech research.we speculate on the theme of loss of subjectivity and
focus on the dataset which lies as a foundation of most
contemporary text-to-speech systems. we grow and train
a speech model which doesn’t serve as a market product
but exists in its primitive non-functional state.

the performer initiates a conversation with an algorithm in
an attempt to learn its phonetic dictionary. this process
enables the performer to fine tune her ways to produce
verbal flow and transform the conversation into a
collective spoken singing — Sprechgesang. The borders
between performer and algorithm begin to dissolve.authors: lovozero + monekeer

they&nbsp;is here

&quot;They&quot; is here by Lovozero+Monekeer

the research focused on the exploration of the sonic space between human and non-human. the result of this research is represented in a form of fictional field recordings which are synthesized using various AI techniques and then transferred into tape.

from the label:"In December 2019 I was given a lift home after the concert. But first we stopped at a cafe.The concert was on the October field, Nastya Tolchneva and Nikita Prudnikov performed, but under their pseudonyms—Lovozero and Monekeer."On November 30 at 19:00, as part of the parallel program of the Internet Animals exhibition, the Khodynka Gallery will host a deep listening session by Nastya Tolchneva (aka Lovozero) and Nikita Prudnikov 'They' is here. The main goal of the artists in this project was to study the latent space of timbres between human and animal. The research results will be presented in the form of imaginary field recordings synthesized using various machine learning techniques. "I do not hear the documented experiment, I do not hear the report on the work done. This record does not force me to think about the role of technology in our life, art ... marketing. This is real, alive music, where something is inside, and if you listen carefully to it, this "something" will settle and continue to live. The album materializes the absent until now, the cassette or files are only a vessel for these organisms, striving through the ears into the listener's consciousness. Just to be alive. I like it so much. Sounds created with the help of a non-human, in the language of an another, composed by the mind of people. I like not thinking about technology as an instrument, instead thinking about music as such. Sometimes it seems that we are an organ projection of music, that one of the meanings of "this all" is its carrying and birth. Music is just some kind of organism, without a shell, the idea of an organism that needs the physical world in order to live, which means hands, air, pressure. And even the code. Cassette tape, label, positive film plastic frames and film itself, writing and ballpoint pens. And also chance meetings, equipment for sound recording, magnetic tape and, most importantly, it's someone's ears, only after getting into which, this organism begins to live.

<img width="1340" height="895" width_o="1340" height_o="895" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/1a273ca1a4ede4330b02f2cd9f34b95f30d790977be5ef3865afeb38fe50263c/3_1340_c.jpg" data-mid="50646223" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/1a273ca1a4ede4330b02f2cd9f34b95f30d790977be5ef3865afeb38fe50263c/3_1340_c.jpg" />
“you, me and all these machines” is a performance for voice and electronic devices. the vocalist puts on her head a specially designed wearable interface tool to interact with the voice and display a visual score. technically, the device consists of several elements: a narrowly directional microphone driven by a motor; an LED strip that shows the vocalist score; remote control with a joystick used by the second participant to control the interface. Shifting the microphone against the mouth makes it possible to achieve interesting sound effects, and makes it easier to manipulate the vocalist's voice. the LED line consisting of 10 diodes is a very primitive, but effective and convenient way of interacting with the vocalist, and the way of interpreting the values is predetermined before each performance. during the performance, a sound canvas is formed, thereby changing the dynamics, consisting of a set of looped fragments created within voice and interface processing elements, without using other methods to generate sounds.
initially, the project was built around the idea of using the body and its capabilities as a starting point or even a resource for later use in a hybrid work. however, the idea was subsequently transformed into a more subtle practice of interaction between two artists, using an electronic device and sound performance as its direct consequence. at the same time, the idea of domination and manipulation was replaced by sensitive interaction, and the "resource" became more and more a source of inspiration. in many ways, the work can be described as a way of interpreting complexities in the relations between a couple, and the displacement of these complexities to the domain of creative interaction.

weighing-machine is the oldest device for determining the parameters of an object and its value. markets take a variety of forms around the world and are quite informative markers of ongoing socio-cultural processes.I see the market as a complex heterogeneous environment (organism), a place of intersection of financial flows, stories of human migration and alienation, cultures of life and production.

I call into question the boundaries of the objects of sale usually expressed only in monetary units. through meetings, and interviews with the market workers I collect various information, which gives me cues for converting the mass of the product they sell into sound parameters.

declaring this synthesis as a “pure” value, I create an opportunity for its sound manifestation in the market space by converting the critical mass of the products into an algorithmic sound composition created in inherent in the market competitive gaming conditions where communications are sporadic and unstable like local Wi-Fi.

the last «tissue», which is shaped in the process of embryo development is bone. making one's consciousness in humility with the density, resistance and structural verticality of one’s «bone-ness», we speculatively attain the capacity to turn its «development» back. through the kinaesthetic sense of density we descend towards viscosity and fluctuation, in the world of the plurality of axis, towards eternal horizon.
dancers performing in their movement the logic of return of body «un-certainty», pave in the multilevel space «Mutabor» hall spontaneously defined routes. they share the space with objects of complex nature (silicon, concrete, aluminum) and the realtime soundscape made up of textures of akin quality to movement. the spectator finds oneself inside those multiple layers, in the density of the sound, awkward dynamics of dancers bodies and objects, where one may observe mergers and deviations of inhuman intensity and logic.

in 2019, together with Anya Kravchenko and the "Tkani" project, we created two performances, "Descend" and "And Those Unwelcomed," at the Mutabor. both works dedicated to the dynamics of human matter, mutations, and other processes excluded from rationalised everyday attention. continuing this research in the studio of the Vladimir Smirnov and Konstantin Sorokin Foundation, we organased the encampment. it became a place where anyone could observe and discuss the practices we developed. each day, we welcomed guests for three hours, divided into one-and-a-half-hour sessions: (1) conversation and (2) meditation.

дискуссии и практики. в 2019 мы с Аней Кравченко и проектом “Ткани” создали два перформанса “нисхождение” (descend) и “и прочие неугодные нам” (and those unwelcomed) на площадке ночного клуба mutabor. обе работы обращались к динамике человеческой материи, мутациям и прочим процессам, исключенным из рационализированного обыденного внимания.&nbsp; продолжая это исследование в студии Фонда Владимира Смирнова и Константина Сорокина мы разбили лагерь, который в течение двух вечеров стал местом, где любой сможет наблюдать и обсуждать разработанные нами практики. в каждый из дней мы принимали гостей в течение трех часов, разделенных на полутора-часовые сессии: (1) разговор (2) медитации.&nbsp;

серию с 2019 организуют Маша Харитонова и Андрей Зайлер, каждое событие приглашает музыкантов и художников к созданию синтетических проектов в клубных пространствах и стремиться "сплетать разнородные музыкальные и перформативные дисциплины и контексты".
